Don't forget our Spring Warehouse Fabric Sale March 27

It's almost here! The Scrap Exchange is busy getting ready for our semi-annual warehouse fabric sale on Saturday March 27. Doors will be open to the public from 10am through 1 pm on Saturday. This sale will take place in our warehouse space above our store in the Liberty Warehouse building on Foster St and Rigsbee St in Durham. The easiest entrance into the warehouse is on Rigsbee St. Look for signs to point the way!

Our Friends Club members can begin shopping at 9 am. Not a member of the Scrap Exchange? Friends memberships will be available to purchase at the door! So come at 9 am and become a member on the spot. Our Friends Club is an annual membership program that provides a 20% discount off every purchase for one year at The Scrap Exchange, including this sale! (This discount does not apply to items in our Artist Marketplace or Green Gallery.) You also receive two free make-n-take studio passes, a $10 value. So, why shop our warehouse fabric sale? Because you can get amazing deals on great fabric! We will have cases and cases of designer fabric samples. Hundreds of cutaways and large scraps. FABRIC SALE!!

It's that time again! We have TONS of new designer samples, plus there will be more cool stuff from the store this time so don't miss out...

When? Saturday, March 27th, 9AM to 1PM.

Where? In our warehouse above the store. Directions will be posted out on the street. You can park on Rigsbee and enter from that side as well.

Remember, Friends get an extra hour before every one else! Not a Friend? You can get a membership at the sale! Friends save 20% down in the store year round and so much more as well... Think about it.

This comes to us from The Children's Scrapstore in the UK. My favorite parts are - looking through tubes and saying "Hi" and - playing "we will rock you" on a trash can using tubes. Having a friend drag you around in a crate looks pretty sweet as well. Please try this at home!

Holy Cow! Maker Faire!!

Maker Faire is on it's way! April is a busy busy month for the Scrap Exchange with fairs and festivals of our own to tend to but you've gotta check this one out as well. This event is all about the D.I.Y. creative spirit and sharing your skills with your community of makers, creators, crafters and friends. All self respecting creative reusers need to drop by and strut their stuff!

Fancy Cake!

Check it out!  Rheada Wilson found supplies at the Scrap Exchange to assist her in making this fabulous castle cake.  

She said her daughter "drew at least 20 pictures and even brought home a castle book from school to make sure I knew what she meant... I got all the tubes and dowels I needed at the Scrap Exchange, along with many other project inspiring things.  I made the inside a marble of chocolate and vanilla, filled with strawberry buttercream and covered it in marshmallow fondant. I went out on a limb and followed the advice of the experts and make all my icings from scratch, and I am glad that I did."

Sounds delicious! Maybe you can come make some more cakes for us... my birthday's coming up!
