Call for Artists! Friends and Family Show

Are you an established artist? Are you a young artist? Are you an artist in the making?

Whatever your age or experience, The Scrap Exchange wants YOU! The upcoming July/August exhibit in our Green Gallery will feature our "friends" in the community, and our "family" here at The Scrap Exchange. Our Friends and Family Show is an open-hanging exhibit where we celebrate the scrap art that is created by artists of all ages, experience, styles and mediums here in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill community. The show will open on Friday July 16 from 6-9 pm and will run through August 14.

We do have a few rules: Artists may submit a maximum of two pieces. Make/bring your own label(s). Items must incorporate reworked, repurposed, reused, or reclaimed materials (preferably from The Scrap Exchange!). All items must be for sale. The commission split will be 60/40, with 60% of any sale going to the artist. We will be hanging salon style and filling up every inch of the gallery with awesome artwork made by our Friends and Family! Any art medium is accepted, and all ages are welcome to contribute.

Artists can hang or display their work during the following store hours prior to opening night:

Sunday July 11, 3 pm - 5 pm
Monday July 12, 3 pm - 5 pm
Tuesday July 13, 3 pm - 5 pm
Wednesday July 14, 3 pm - 7 pm

The opening reception for our Friends and Family exhibit will be Friday July 16 from 6pm-9pm.
Opening night festivities are open to the public and will include refreshments, free art making and live music by the Brass Band.

So get to work and prepare a piece (or two!) of scrap art to hang in this upcoming show! Last year's Friends and Family Show was amazing. We can't wait to see what our "friends and family" prepare for us this year.

(Questions? Call The Scrap Exchange at 688-6960 during store hours with any additional questions you may have about this show! We will do our best to answer them.)
