MEDUSA!

Excellent work by customer Shoshana Serxner and her son. This is what she had to say about her creation:

"This Medusa head was made from some of your materials. The face is a rubber mask of the Incredible Hulk, stuffed with newspaper to give it body. The hair is piping rope that we bought at the Scrap Exchange, stuck onto the styrofoam with sewing pins. The snakes are pieces of garden hose, kept in place and sticking out off the board with coat hangers. We used bent pieces of coat hanger to make staples, so that we could fasted the snakes to board. The snake heads are pieces of foam stars that I also picked up at the Scrap Exchange. I cut off two points, split the rest a little bit open up its mouth more and stuck it onto the piece of wire that was holding up the hose. Finally, we sprayed it with rock spray paint.

My son and I had a great time making this "sculpture"."

A customer creation!

Check out this amazing quilt made by customer Betsy Treece. She attended our warehouse fabric sale and this is what she had to say: " I made this quilt entirely out of fabrics that I got at the fabric sale. And since it is all that thick upholstery fabric it's very thick and luxurious." I only wish I could be as productive as she is.

Do you have a project you've made from items found at The Scrap Exchange? Send us an email to store@scrapexchange.org and we may feature it on our blog.

Molds and Mess

We just got in some great doll part molds, used for slip casting or just as creepy decorative objects.

convex or concave?

Just a hint of the carnage left after the fabric sale...
